The Bahamas Hotel Associations is partnering with Revans University, with the support of International Management Centre Association Socrates (IMCA) to launch the Professional Master of Management (M.Mgmt) in Hospitality & Tourism. This is being done in an effort to assist with the continuous development of seasoned hotel owners and operators as well as senior/experienced management executives in our Hospitality & Tourism Industry.
This program has been successfully launched by the Jamaica Hotel & Tourism Association and the St. Lucia Hotel and Tourism Association. Over the past five years over 32 hotel industry scholarships valued at over $100,000 have been awarded to Bahamian students, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the hotel sector and BHA’s work with an industry regional scholarship programs. The Bahamas Hotel Association and its partner organizations, the Bahamas Hotel Catering and Allied Workers Union, and the Bahamas Hotel Employers Association, are seeking applicants for scholarships available to students and employees wishing to further their education in tourism-related studies.
BHA is presently soliciting applicants for the Industry Partners Pat Bain Scholarships. The deadline for submitting applications is Friday, April 30th.
The Bahamian hotel industry should be “at least 50 per cent of the way” to returning to pre-2008 Wall Street crash numbers by year-end if it maintains current performance trends, the Bahamas Hotel Association’s (BHA) president telling Tribune Business the organisation had made several proposals to mitigate the impact of any rise in electricity tariffs.
