Bahamas Reinstates Protocols To Prevent COVID-19

Bahamas Ministry Of Tourism & Aviation Statement On Executive Order Amid Rising Covid-19 Cases

Bahamas will Reinstate Country-Wide Restrictions, Protocols to Prevent Further Spread of COVID-19 and Protect the Health, Safety of Bahamians, and Visitors

In a press conference this evening, Prime Minister, The Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, announced that, out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of residents and visitors, The Bahamas has reinstated on-island guidelines, protocols and preventative measures to help curb further spread of COVID-19.

An updated Emergency Order applies to the entire country of The Bahamas and includes weekend lockdowns and weekly curfews, beach closures, dining restrictions, prohibition of all congregate activity, and the discontinuation of inter-island travel.

Tourism Readiness Plan Underway

Tourism Readiness and Recovery Committee (TRRC) to establish a Tourism Readiness and Recovery Plan for re-entry into the Tourism Market

The Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) and The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism are working alongside public and private sector partners including The Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board (NPIPB), Paradise Island Tourism Development Association (PITDA), Bahama Out Islands Promotion Board (BOIPB), Grand Bahama Island Tourism Board (GBITB), Nassau Airport Development Company (NAD), Nassau Cruise Ports, Association of Bahamas Marinas, Hutchison Ports Bahamas (Grand Bahama Airport Co., Freeport Harbour Co., and Freeport Container Port) and The Bahamas Ministry of Health (BMOH) to create and propose a “Bahamas Tourism Readiness and Recovery Plan for Re-entry into the Tourism Market”.
