Bahamas Well-Represented At Taste of The Caribbean

The Bahamas has assembled a mix of veteran and young chefs to represent the country at a regional culinary event – The Taste of the Caribbean in Miami.

Chefs, pastry chefs and bartenders from throughout the Caribbean will meet in Miami from June 26 to 30 for the annual competition. Devin Johnson, manager of the Bahamas’ team said the team got an earlier start than last year in preparing for the competition this year, increasing its chances of reaching the gold medal standard at the 2013 event.

On Tuesday, June 18th at 7:00 p.m. they will showcase their skills at a demonstration dinner at the illustrious One & Only Ocean Club.

The evening includes a seven course dinner (menu below), cocktail reception and an Amuse Bouche which creatively infuses Bahamian with International food pairings and flavor.

2013 Culinary Team Prepares for Regional Competition

The creative culinary juices are flowing as some of our nation’s top chefs prepare to enter the region’s prized ‘Taste of the Caribbean’ competition.  The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s annual event will feature more than 14 national teams vying for individual and team gold at the Hyatt Regency in Miami from June 27th to June 30th.
