Jobs Placement and Salary Subsidy Program

Businesses interested in participating in the program should send an email request to the Ministry of Finance at  job@bahamas.gov.bs.

 The email should include:

· Number of persons you wish to engage

· Skill sets required

· Specific questions or concerns you wish to have addressed

· Job description for the positions to be filled if available
 
A Ministry of Finance representative will contact interested employers to discuss next steps. Employers will have the opportunity to interview potential employees before placement. 

You will need to hire from their pool provided, providing the applicant meets your requirements.   

The Government’s objective is to facilitate net new employment, meaning that you will not be allowed to terminate existing staff so that you can replace them with persons from the program or have persons you already have employed be subsidized under the program.
 
Interested employers are advised to be as specific as possible when sending in their email request. All costs related to the employee will be the responsibility of the Bahamas Government during the one-year period except in the event a person works beyond the 40 hour work week then overtime cost will be the responsibility of the employer.
 
Employers, particularly in Grand Bahama and the Family Islands, are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
