Tru Tru Bahamian Festival 2020
There is something for everyone at this event – food lovers – come and taste traditional conch fritters or savour out of the ordinary conch in a cone, Bahamian lobster cooked to perfection, flavorful wings, Bahamian spiced meat on a stick, favorite fillers such as peas and rice, all Bahamian macaroni and cheese, Finish off with sweet treats such as a delicious homemade guava duff – for those who love their libations, enjoy specialty cocktails such as Mr. Mix’s Hot n Saucy Sandy Brown; or his famous ICU – we have Bahamian specialty teas and bush medicine concoctions and fresh coconut water, something for everyone’s taste!
With Valentine’s Day coming up you can choose from a treasure trove of hand-made specialty items; one of a kind jewelry, romantic candles, unique works of art, soaps, scrubs, jams jellies spices! There will be something there which will help you say “you are special”
Family entertainment will include Bahamian games and activities – Teach your kids to plait the maypole, play a game of ring play, or interact with Bahamian creatures from land and sea – our favourite Bahamian Boa will be making his rounds to say hello with our feathered friends from Ardastra Zoo!
For our music lovers – Enjoy the rhythm of the infamous Gerald Cash Primary School Rake and Scrape Band; sway to the beat of the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, join the Junkanoo Commandoes in their Junkanoo Shack; and don’t leave before their Junkanoo Rush Out at the end of each night. For those that love a party – come and dance to the sounds of the Rhythm Band, The Essence Band, and an array of other talented Bahamian performers.
Ticket prices are $7 for adults, $5 for children under 12 – Doors Open at 10 am each day, and stay open till 8 pm on Saturday and 6 pm on Sunday!
Festival goers can park at the Pointe all day for just $ 5:00!
