Bahamas National Culinary Team – Update #2

The team, and in particular the only woman of the Team, Chef Celeste Smith went above and beyond traditional “norms” as she plated a delicious and daring dessert, whose entire composition reflected her very own Bahamian story. Newcomer, Chef Tevin Kemp and seasoned Chef Asteir Dean plated stunning, delicious culinary creations fraught with indigenous flavors.

Not to be outdone by his culinary comrades, Mixologist Derrick Blackmon served a rum drink which was a veritable guava duff delight, and a “Dilly Dally”; a Sapodilla Fruit vodka infused drink dubbed by some tasters as a contender for “ The National Drink of The Bahamas”!

We continue to thank the Bahamas National Culinary Team and applaud their herculean efforts; as they give their all to represent The Bahamas at this prestigious, highly competitive culinary event.

The final day of competition commenced at the crack of dawn and culminates with the Grand Finale tomorrow night, where the results will be announced during dinner.

Team:  Manager, Chef Devin Johnson, Team Administrator, Sharon Farrington of the BHTA, Chef Mario Adderley, Team Captain; Chef Jamal Small, Chefs; Leonardis Moss, Celeste Smith, Asteir Dean, Kevyn Pratt, Tevin Kemp; Mixologist Derrick Blackmon, Junior Chef Hazen Rolle and Apprentice Ryan McIntosh
