Standing Room Only At BHTA’s 2015 Annual General Meeting

Director General of the Ministry of Tourism Joy Jibrilu presented key industry statistics and spoke of the myriad collaborative efforts and achievements realized in 2015. Other presenters included Fred Lounsberry, CEO of the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board (NPIPB), John Munoz of MasterCard Advisors and Melanie Roach, who reported on hurricane recovery and relief efforts on behalf of the government’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Noticeably present were a variety of Tru-Tru Bahamian vendors, who were invited to showcase their Tru-Tru Bahamian crafts, straw goods, jewelry and art work to the cadre of tourism stakeholders.

In 2016 and beyond, the BHTA will continue to work with industry partners in both the public and private sectors to advance advocacy efforts, workforce readiness and customer service training programs, sustainable activities and promote culturally relevant events and activities in an effort to continue to help facilitate the probability, sustainability and quality of tourism for The Bahamas.
