Jibrilu: 2.2M New Visitors to NPIPB Website This Year
Nassau and Paradise Island Promotion Board (NPIPB) Chief Executive Officer Joy Jibrilu said yesterday at the Bahamas Hotel and Tourism Association’s directors and membership meeting that NPIPB’s website has 3.2 million visitors, with two thirds of them being “new users”.
“In terms of our website’s performance This continues to be a key performance indicator for us. We continue to see strong growth. We’ve attracted more visitors than even previously.
“So far this year, we’ve seen 3.2 million visitors, and the great news is 2.2 million are new users to our site, and links to our member properties are now just under 400,000, so wonderful news.-00:38
“We’re seeing great growth across social media, our consumer channels all remain strong, and the LinkedIn growth has been exceptional also, which is really promising for us.
“We’ve seen increasing engagement with the Bahamian public, and this has been a priority as we try to sensitize them to the work of the NPIPB. The results here show that we are making an impact.”
Executive Director of the Bahamas Out Islands Promotion Board Kerry Fountain also said: “Here are some of the high and the low lights. Room nights sold decreased by 10.39 percent from 2023, and approximately 24 percent from 2019.
In March 2024, we recorded the highest room nights sold, 14,139. Of course, that was due to Easter falling in the month of March. Everybody saw some softening, I think, around June, July, right through the end of the year.
He added: “On the positive side for us, though, we saw November and December in 2024 actually growing over 2023 in terms of room nights sold, so that was positive for us.
“In terms of room revenue, whereas you can see where room nights sold decreased at a higher percentage, the room revenue basically was flat. Room revenue decreased by 3.4 percent over 2023, and it was basically flat compared to 2019, and that is for the entire year.”
