Wayne’s work with Barbados and other jurisdictions as they transitioned from a primarily duty-based to VAT collection system brings good perspective to the table for us as we as an industry begin to research and understand VAT and the challenges and opportunities it presents.
Tax Symposium Post-Hurricane Sandy Press Statement
Last week The National Symposium On Tax Reform, scheduled for October 25th and 26th, 2012, was cancelled as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
The public is advised that the information which would have been presented at the Symposium has been recorded and will be shared with the public by way of a comprehensive online, television and radio initiative.
The aim is to ensure that all material is made available to as wide an audience as possible.
Specifically, arrangements have been made to facilitate the following:
- Television broadcasting of a dynamic round table discussion amongst local and international tax experts, moderated by Mr. Wendell Jones and Dr. Godfrey Eneas.
- A weekly television series on tax matters, airing every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on JCN (Cable channel 14);
- Radio broadcasting of presentations;
- Use of technology and social media outlets to circulate the same.
We invite the public to tune in to the airing of the Roundtable discussions on Tax Reform airing weekly on Cable 12 beginning on Wednesday November 7th at 10:00pm.
