Ministry of Tourism Statement On Hurricane Sandy

Airports on Exuma, Eleuthera, Cat Island and Nassau, are expected to close at 8:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25. These airports are expected to re-open late Friday afternoon.
Airports on Grand Bahama Island, Abaco and Bimini are being closely monitored, but are open at this time.
 
Ports on Exuma, Eleuthera, Cat Island and Nassau are expected to close at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 and remain closed until Saturday, Oct. 27. At this time, the Carnival ships Pride and Glory are expected to call at Grand Bahama Island on Friday, Oct. 26. Passengers with reservations should contact their cruise line directly for updates.
 
All visitors and potential visitors are advised to follow the progress of Hurricane Sandy closely (www.nhc.noaa.gov) and avail themselves of the Bahamas Hotel Association hurricane cancellation policy to reschedule their trip if necessary.
 
The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism will continue to monitor Hurricane Sandy and will provide updates as the situation warrants.
