Emily Still on Track to Impact Most of Bahamas

Emily is moving at 12 mph with sustained winds now at 50 mph.  Slight strengthening is anticipated before it reaches Hispaniola where the higher elevations are expected to temporarily downgrade it to a tropical depression.  It is expected to regroup as a tropical storm as it enters our warmer waters.
 
The Met Department advises residents of the southeast Bahamas to ensure that all pre-season precautions have been taken.
