Nassau Hilton Plans Charity Event To Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Jermaine Wright, Director of Sales & Marketing with the Hilton said: “There was a lot of different ways the Hilton could have chosen to celebrate our 10th anniversary and so we chose to give back to the community because the community has been a part of our success at the Hilton over the course of the past 10 years.

“Every month we’ll have a different event where all of the proceeds will be going to charity. We’ll be partnering with different organizations throughout the entire year.

“The first one scheduled to be a fashion show where the proceeds will be going to the Aids Foundation and so we are working with the organizers of that committee and that is going to be at the end of this month.

“Next month we are working with the Sisters organization on breast cancer awareness and there is a pink event being held at the hotel in partnership with them.

“Other entities we are partnering with is Hands for Hunger later in the year.

“The highlight of the 10 months celebrations will be our 10 Chefs event, we’ll be flying in chefs. It will be a very lavish event and each chef will have their own specialty.

“There will also be a spin on a Mad Hatters party but everything will be made from re-usable items, a recycled hat event, we are working on an art series, that will be a pivotal part of the celebrations.

“Also we are working on a Clash of the Choirs, we’ll invite some of our religious clients to bring the choirs and once again all of the proceeds will go to charity.

“It will be a full year filled with exciting events.”

The Hilton is already involved in helping the fundraising for Haiti. This week’s Final Friday networking event for professionals, held in the Bullion bar, will be part of that with door proceeds be donated.

Plus the Hilton is hosting the telethon tonight and tomorrow in its Governors ballroom, and all hotel employees are making a personal donation and giving it to one of the charities on the island of Haiti.
